GHK-Cu is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to a copper(II) ion. The copper is what makes the solution blue and is central to the biological activity (wound healing, collagen synthesis in research models).
Both are studied in the literature. Topical preparation (mixed into a carrier serum) is common for skin-research applications; subcutaneous reconstitution is used for systemic tissue-repair studies.
